July 2017 Must-Haves!

I am BACK! It’s been a long time! I have some great news – I recently got accepted into Radiation Therapy school and I just started this past June. Things have just been really hectic for me lately, but I’m glad to be back for a NEW post!

Even though summer is halfway over, there are SO many things that I believe are essential for the summer time, even if you aren’t planning on going on a vacation or out of town. It was so hard for me to narrow it down to my top TEN favorites, so here they are!

The Chok Chok Green Tea

Image from tonymoly.us

TonyMoly The Chok Chok Green Tea Watery Essence – During this summer, I think it’s easy to forget to moisturize your skin, especially because of all of the perspiration and humidity that we encounter on a daily basis. At the end of the day, the skin can become dull and dried out. I’ve been using this product by Tony Moly, and I enjoy the lightweight and watery texture! It feels refreshing on the skin. I like to apply right before bedtime, that way my skin can absorb all of the moisturizer before the next morning. It’s also made by mostly NATURAL ingredients, so there’s no need to worry about harsh chemicals/preservatives.

Buxom Hot Escapes Bronzer in Tahiti – You may have seen this on a previous post, but I’m still LOVING my Buxom bronzer. It has a fresh, lightweight scent (that doesn’t smell too fragranced) and it’s the perfect color for a subtle contour on the face. Even if you’re not a big fan of contouring, I think this bronzer is also great for adding that lightly sun-kissed look without overdoing it. Plus, it doesn’t contain talc, so any of my friends who are allergic to talc, this may be the product for you!

St Moritz Self-Tanning Mousse in Dark – Fake tanning is one of the BEST ways to go, because you DON’T want your skin to age any quicker (if you can prevent it)! Also, since I AM in school for radiation and cancer, I always try to recommend others to avoid burning in the sun (that way I don’t have to see them later on!). I have been loving this St. Moriz Self-Tanner. It is a little messy when you put it on (I have to be HONEST!), but once you wash the guard off, it looks SO natural. Best part is that you DON’T look like an orange Oompa-Loompa.

Andalou BB Sheer Tint with SPF 30 – Sun protection is A MUST during the summer time, even if you think that you’re indoors for most of the day! I have been recently loving the Andalou Sheer Tinted Moisturizer. It has a light citrus scent, and it gives a sheer tint to your face if you need to even out your skin tone. Plus, it is CRUELTY FREE and it is made up of all natural ingredients, so you know that you’re getting only THE BEST products for your skin!

Pom Pom Shorts – Of course, as I’ve stated before, I’m in school, so most of the time, you’ll probably catch me wearing scrubs. If I want to look somewhat put together, I REALLY love ANY type of pom pom shorts. I think they look FLATTERING for just about any figure, and these are SO easy to dress up or down with. You can wear it to the lake, to the beach, running errands, or even to a nice dinner. Plus, most of them are stretchy in the waist, so you DON’T have to worry about zippers or buttons!

Sanuk Yoga Sling Sandals – I have tried and loved SO many strappy sandals, but I think this one is a winner in my book! I have tried these on, and am in the the processing of purchasing these sandals. I LOVE them so far. They have a nice cushioned sole that’s made from yoga mats, and I also like the cloth straps (that way it doesn’t rub against your feet). These are also great for people with wide feet, so if you have wider feet and are in the market looking for some sandals, fear not, because these were made for you!

Victoria’s Secret Lip Gloss in Charmed – I have to admit, I have a SMALL weakness for Victoria’s Secret lip glosses. I know that matte lips are in, but I’ve just been loving a lightly polished lip! My favorite lip glosses from them are nude lip glosses, and the ones that I have been obsessed with is Bare and Charmed. Bare is basically every girl’s nude. I think it looks great on just about any skin tone. Charmed is a nice mauve-nude lip gloss, which again, I think looks AMAZING on just about any skin tone. These two have been my everyday lip products if I just want a small pop of color.

Vivosmart HR

Image from explore.garmin.com

Garmin Vivosmart HR Fitness Watch – I have been LOVING this fitness watch lately! I got this on EBay a while back, and I’ve been loving it ever since! It’s a great way to count your calories and steps, and you can also sync it up to your phone to get notifications. Also, with Oklahoma’s ever-changing weather, it’s nice to be able to look at my watch to see what the forecast is like each day. I also love that it monitors your heart rate, and best of all, it is WATERPROOF! I can attest to that because I wore it in the shower one time!

Beach Bellini Herbal Tea from Teavana – LOVE THIS STUFF. I love coffee, but this comes to a VERY close second. I always like to indulge in a drink, and unfortunately due to my Asian ancestry, alcohol and I never really mix. However, I found a new love, and this has to be one of my ALL-TIME favorite teas! It’s really fruity and refreshing, but not too sweet. It does taste like a true bellini (without the alcohol of course!). I love sipping this on days when I just want to relax, or when I feel like I should treat myself. You guys should all try it! You will NOT be disappointed.

Warby Parker Glasses in Addie, Eliot, and Hayes – I have just ADORED Warby Parker glasses for a while now. I was ECSTATIC to check out their new collection! I really love their new collection of glasses – very elegant, simple and sophisticated. Plus, I think the frames are so flattering on just about anyone or even any face shape. I also like how you can customize your glasses and go for the traditional route, or even create sunglasses with these lovely frames. Plus, this is the season where it’s HOT and SUNNY outside, so it’s time to protect your eyes! These are also great for just about any occasion, whether it’s casual or for work. These are definitely a BIG hit in my book, and it’s worth trying out!

Alright guys, those are my TOP TEN FAVORITES for this past month and during the past few weeks of summer! I hope that you guys are all doing well, and I hope that you have lots of fun! Enjoy it while it lasts!

Until next time,

January-February Favorites!

Hey guys!

I know I’ve been on a hiatus with my blog, but I definitely needed it! I want to thank all of the people who have been loyal to my blog, no matter how long I’ve been gone! You guys are really the reason why that I do this!

It’s been about three months or so since my last post, and I decided not to post anything for January or February just because I never really tried out any new products, and I’ve been going bare-faced many times out in public, so I didn’t feel the need to create a post with only two or three items in it. HOWEVER, I’ve accumulated lots of new products that I really want to share with you guys. It’s going to be a LONNNNGGGGG post so I hope you all have time to read it! 🙂

Massage Oil

Soothing Massage Oil in “Peppermint Rosemary”

Soothing Touch Peppermint Rosemary Massage Oil – If you guys have followed me or read my previous posts, you guys know that I have really bad eczema rashes around the wintertime. The air gets drier and colder, and unfortunately, that really irritates my skin! Someone recommended mixing an oil with my favorite lotion, so I decided to pick this up from my local foods store. I LOVE THE SMELL OF THIS OIL!! I’m obsessed with peppermint, so this is right up my alley. I love how it absorbs into the skin, and it doesn’t leave a greasy feeling. I usually do 5 to 10 drops of oil per pump of lotion, and that gives me the right amount of moisture for my skin! Definitely recommend if you need something to help soothe those eczema breakouts!

Peppermint Scrub

Soothing Touch Chocolate Peppermint Brown Sugar Scrub

Soothing Touch Chocolate Peppermint Brown Sugar Scrub – Along with the oil, I picked this up because even though I have eczema breakouts, I also tend to have really flaky, dry skin. I love this scrub because it’s not too harsh, and it has coconut and almond oil, so you don’t have to reapply lotion or moisturizer afterwards! I love using this right before I have to shave my legs! It gives my legs that healthy glow right after I get out of the shower. 🙂

Burt's Bees Wash

Burt’s Bees Acne Solutions Gel Cleanser

Burt’s Bees Acne Gel Cleanser – This past month, I’ve been getting these stubborn breakouts on my face, and it got to a point to where my trusty old AcneFree cleanser was NOT taking care of the problem. I decided to switch to a more natural alternative, and I DEFINITELY love this wash! It has become my staple face wash after the gym. It makes my skin feel refreshed and soft! Best part of it is that it doesn’t have any harsh chemicals, so I think that this will be useful to even the most sensitive skin users.

Glam Glow

GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment

GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment – It’s been a HOT minute since I’ve used this product. Again, as I’ve stated before, this past month has been a breakout war-zone on my face! I found this lying around on my bathroom sink, so I decided to use it again! I love how this mask pulls out the grossest blackheads, and it gets rid of all the excess oil and gunk out of the face! It smells wonderful, and it gives my skin a nice glow! I KNOW that this product is expensive, so I recommend on either splurging it if you have the money, or JUST purchase it when it’s on sale. It hasn’t disappointed me yet!

La Creme Wipes

The Creme Shop Neroli Oil Cleansing Towelettes

The Creme Shop Neroli Oil Cleansing Towelettes – Even though I don’t wear makeup that often, when I do, I get SO LAZY to take it off. I picked this up from TJ Maxx or Marshall’s, and I have to admit, this is one of the best makeup removing wipes that I’ve tried! It does a great job of taking off all of my makeup, and there was one instance where I forgot to wash my face off after using these wipes, but my face never broke out! I highly recommend this!

Dry Spray

EVA NYC “Speed it Up” Blow Dry Spray

EVA NYC Speed It Up Blow Dry Spray – I stopped by at my local ULTA just to see what was new or on sale, and I picked this little spray up! I have to admit, I love this drying spray! It’s a nice spray to use when you need to cut down hair drying time, or if you need it as a quick heat protectant when your hair is still wet! I think this is great because it doesn’t contain alcohol, which some of the other blow-dry sprays have, and I feel like that could damage your hair. I love the smell TOO! It smells like a nice ocean breeze!

Frida Kahlo Lipstick

Frida Kahlo Lipstick in “Viva”

Frida Kahlo Lipstick in “Viva” – I have to admit, I have an obsession with nude dusty rose lipsticks, and this one HIT THE SPOT for me! I love this shade. I think it’s a great Your Lips But Better shade, and I just adore the packaging. I think this is a great everyday lipstick that will look good on just about any skin tone! I highly recommend it!

Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Powder in “Warm Beige”

Wet n Wild Photofocus Powder in “Warm Beige” – My biggest pet peeve with any type of powder is the flashback. I picked this up at a local drugstore, and I have to admit, I love this product! It’s so affordable, and it goes on very nicely! It photographs very well, and best part is that it doesn’t leave a huge white-cast flashback. It gives the skin a nice natural, satin finish, where it’s not too matte or too shiny. This has definitely been a winner in my book!

Wet n Wild Megaglo Highlighting Powder in “Crown of My Canopy”

Wet n Wild Megaglo Highlighter in “Crown of My Canopy” – Along with the powder, I decided to purchase the highlighter! I’ve always wanted to try this highlighter, since it’s been raved by so many people on the internet. I can now see why! It’s a natural peachy highlight, and this works as well as some of the high-end highlighters that I’ve purchased. It gives the skin a gorgeous just got sun kissed type of glow! Plus, it’s super affordable! Love!

Revlon Bronzer in “Bronzilla”

Revlon Bronzer in “Bronzilla” – I think that there are SO many drugstore bronzers that are underrated, and I think that this is one of them! I picked this up from my local Big Lots not too long ago, and I’ve been loving it ever since! What I like about this bronzer is that it looks very natural on the skin; it’s definitely not too ashy or too orange. I think that this bronzer works very well on the skin, and a little goes a long way (usually I only dip my brush in it twice and that’s enough to contour or warm up my complexion). Highly recommend!

Ardell Brow Gel

Ardell Brow Building Fiber Gel in “Dark Brown”

Ardell Brow Fiber Gel in “Medium Brown”  – I do have a special spot in my heart for the Essence Brow Gel, but MAN, this is a winner in my book. I was really impressed with this brow gel after using it for a few days. First of all, I really like the brush; it’s small and it can easily thicken up the thinnest of brows without smudging off onto the skin. Second of all, I really like the color. I was a little worried that it would be either too warm-toned or too dark for me, but I found the color was just right! Perfect brow gel for those who need a quick fill-in in small sparse areas!

VS Pro Camouflage FX Concealing Palette

VS Pro Camouflage Universal Concealer Palette – This has been sitting in the back of my makeup case untouched for a few years now. I pulled this out, and man, I love this stuff! I love that it has three different shades (which is really all I need). I use the lighter color for underneath my eyes to conceal my dark circles, then I use the medium shade for pimples or acne scars, and I use the darker shade for occasional contouring! I like how it’s travel-sized and that it doesn’t contain too much product, only because I’m the type of person that likes to use as little product as possible to let my skin BREATHE. I don’t think Victoria’s Secret makes this anymore, but I do believe that the Sonia Kashuk “Hidden Agenda” Concealer Palette concealer is a dupe and works just as well!

Sally Hansen Nail Polish in “What in Carnation”

Sally Hansen Nail Polish in “What in Carnation” – It is indeed spring time, and lately, I’ve been getting the pastel feels! I’ve been loving pastel shades on my nails. I think that they look flattering and gorgeous, especially during this season. This nail polish by Sally Hansen is a nice pastel lilac color, and I have to admit, I also love the fat brush, which makes it WAY easier to paint your nails with your non-dominant hand. Plus this nail polish has lasted a good 10 days on my nails. Highly recommend!

Incoco Nail Strips

Incoco Nail Strips in “Between the Lines”

Incoco Nail Strips in “Between the Lines” – I’ve been super surprised that I haven’t heard any reviews about these nail strips before! I purchased these on a whim at my local Walmart, and these are some of the best nail strips I’ve purchased! Putting these on takes some time, but it definitely cuts down on the nail drying time for me! I like the different designs that they offer, and the best part? These will usually stay on your nails for an average of 10-14 days!

Nike Elite Socks in “Velvet Galaxies”

Nike Elite Galaxy Socks– I looked at these socks, and my first thought was, “These socks do NOT fit my personality or style whatsoever”. My sister was like, “That is the EXACT reason why you should buy these socks”. I did end up purchasing these, and I have to admit, I LOVE them! I love the colors! It reminds me of a galaxy or a sunset. I’ve gotten lots of compliments on them too. Plus, these are great basketball socks if you’re looking for some new ones.

Pill Holder

Walmart Pill Holder

Weekly Pill Organizer/Pill Holder – I’m not THAT old yet, but I do get forgetful when it’s time to take my vitamins. This has definitely made MY life so much easier! I like how this pill holder separates into morning and evening times, that way I remember which pills I have or have not taken! This pill holder also helps me get into a routine, that way I get into a good habit of taking my vitamins! Plus, it was dirt cheap!

G7 Instant Coffee Strong X2

G7 Instant Coffee Strong X2 – I am a HUGE fan of G7 coffee! I wish they would sponsor me already!! I like this coffee because it’s great for those in a pinch (all you need is hot water), and it’s one of the best tasting instant coffees on the market! I love the flavor – it’s rich, bold, and it has a nice dark roast (which is my favorite type of roast really). Downside is that it’s only available at Asian markets, but I don’t mind because it’s all worth it! I highly recommend this stuff if you’re a coffee addict like me!

Papaya Tablets

Trader Joe’s Papaya & Pineapple Enzyme Tablets

Trader Joe’s Papaya and Pineapple Enzyme Tablets – I have to admit, I eat bad occasionally and sometimes it’s hard to digest. These pills have been a lifesaver! Sometimes I’m not able to obtain fresh papaya, so I just take these pills! It helps my digestive system, and it helps me poop (sorry for being immature, but it really does help). I think also helps with your digestive system if you don’t get enough fiber in your diet as well! Plus, these are insanely cheap (probably about $3 to $4 a bottle).

Image result for trader joe's frozen mangos

Trader Joe’s Frozen Mango Chunks (Image – http://www.popsugar.com)

Trader Joe’s Frozen Mangos – I have a sweet tooth at night occasionally, and I have to admit, these help me when I have a craving! I love these mangos because they don’t taste like they’re preserved (which sometimes, some frozen fruits do). They taste so flavorful and fresh! I also like eating them frozen, just because they remind of of eating a fresh fruit popsicle!

Alpen Dark Chocolate 70% Cocoa Muesli Cereal 11.8 oz. Box

Alpen Chocolate Muesli (Image http://www.walmart.com)

Alpen Muesli Dark Chocolate – In the mornings, I am usually pretty lazy when it comes to picking out what I want for breakfast, and this has DEFINITELY made it easier for me. If you haven’t had muesli before, the best way I could describe this, is that it’s a cross between cereal and oatmeal. I love muesli because it’s more flavorful than oatmeal, and I like THIS one even more because it contains chocolate! Plus, it has a lot of fiber and protein, which is great for days that you need to eat something healthy in the mornings.

NurseMates Shoes

Nursemates Shoes in “London”

Nursemates Shoes in the style “London” – For the longest time, I’ve been looking for shoes that are comfortable to wear when I’m at work! I stand on my feet for hours at a time, and I really wanted something with a good, comfy insole. I came across these shoes, and these are actually REALLY comfortable! It’s almost like walking on clouds! I really like that they are white (so they are occupational or work appropriate), and my feet do not hurt while standing HOURS at a time. I highly recommend these if you are working in the healthcare field, and need a dependable, comfortable shoe.

Brooks Glycerin 12 in “Brite Pink”

Brooks Glycerin 12 in “Brite Pink” – These are absolute one of my favorite gym shoes! I absolutely LOVE bright colors, so this was perfect for me! I think that almost all types of Brooks have a comfortable, durable insole, and they’re also perfect for those with wide feet (such as myself)! I love Brooks, and this is one pair that I highly recommend if you’re looking for a good running/occupational shoe.

Asus Zenwatch (1st Generation) – (Image from – http://www.digitaltrends.com)

Asus Zenwatch (1st Generation) – For the longest time, I’ve really wanted to try out an affordable smartwatch, but to be honest, it’s really hard to budget or purchase one when you’re living off of a college student’s income. I purchased this off of EBay, and I have to admit that although it doesn’t have all of the functions of the higher-end smartwatches, it does very many impressive things! Some of the functions of the watch include – a pedometer, calorie counter, weather update, an agenda (if you set it up on your phone), Google translator (you can actually have someone speak into the watch and it’ll translate for you), as well as a Google function (it will automatically search what you need on your phone if you speak into the watch). I think it’s a great, affordable watch, and I love the sleek design. I think that it’s very impressive, and if you’re lucky,  you are able to find this watch around the $50 to $80 range!

**Note – I didn’t have my actual Asus Zenwatch pictured because I have been kind of rough with the straps and it looks a little gnarly!**

Garmin Watch

Garmin Vivosmart HR

Garmin Vivosmart HR data using Garmin Connect app

Garmin Vivosmart HR Watch/Activity Tracker – Along with the Asus Zenwatch, I recently purchased a Garmin Vivosmart HR Watch. I’ve wanted a fitness watch for a while, but again, none of them really fit my budget. I’ve heard many things about the FitBit, but I was very skeptical because although I don’t any negativity towards the product, I do feel as though it has been a little over-hyped! After several weeks, I decided to purchase a refurbished Garmin watch on EBay! I really like this watch because it has several fitness functions (a pedometer, can count floors/flights of stairs, calorie counter, mileage calculator, heart rate monitor) , as well as smartwatch functions (notifies any incoming calls and or texts, updates weather, and can play music). Although it normally ranges from $100 to $150 dollars, I’ve seen it sold as a refurbished or used product for around $30 to $80. So far, it is my favorite fitness watch, and I can tell that I will DEFINITELY be using it for a LONG time.

Superfoods Shake

Pro-Shake Protein Shake in “Superberry”

Pro-Shake Smoothie in “Superberry” – I have bad habits to break, and one of my bad habits is lacking in the fresh fruits and vegetables department. It is so EASY and TEMPTING to just get fast food or to eat badly throughout the week, especially if you’re busy with work or school. However, this has definitely made MY diet a lot easier! This is basically a powdered smoothie or protein mix that can be easily mixed in with milk or iced water. It contains pea protein (for those who have a sensitivity to whey or soy protein), as well as oats, kale, spinach, chia seeds, and LOTS of fiber. I love this because it doesn’t taste like it’s too healthy; it actually tastes like a strawberry milkshake! I REALLY love drinking this in the mornings or evenings when I’m too lazy or in a hurry, and it’s AFFORDABLE, which is great if you’re on a budget!

Cafe Kacao – I have been OBSESSED with this brunch place! I think everyone has a favorite place for brunch, and I think this is my favorite of all time! My go-to brunch meal is a Spicy Tecpan, which comes with spicy scrambled eggs, potatoes with a green chile sauce, and black beans. I’m NOT a bean person, but I feel like they’ve put a little something extra in their black beans to make them taste AMAZING. I also love their pancakes, and I would probably put their pancakes down as one of my wedding cakes if I could! My favorite pancake is the berry one, which comes with a horchata cream sauce and a berry compote. It’s not too sweet, and I love the tartness from the fresh berries. Plus, their coffee selection is AWESOME. If you’re ever in town in Oklahoma City, I recommend this place!

Alright guys! That’s all for my favorites! Thank you all for your support and positive thoughts! I am also grateful that you all have been so patient with me even with the extra-long break that I took! It definitely means a lot to me!

Until next time,

November/December 2016 Favorites

Hey guys!

I hope that all of you guys are doing well, and that you all had an amazing NEW YEARS EVE! There’s not a whole lot of favorites these past couple of months, just because I’ve been wearing less makeup. However, there are a few new products that I have been enjoying!

Jergens All-Purpose Face Cream – Seriously, this is one of the BEST, hands down, makeup removing cream I have ever tried! I think this HUGE 1 pound jar is roughly $3 or $4 at Walmart. I love this stuff because it literally takes EVERYTHING off your face. It is also good at removing waterproof makeup, which I love! I hate using two different products just to remove makeup off my face, but with this one, I just use this cream with some baby wipes or paper towels, and everything just slides right off! It has a light floral smell to it, but it’s honestly not that strong or noticeable on the face. I honestly think that this is comparable to the Clinique’s Take the Day Away makeup balm remover, but just a fraction of the price! Affordable and effective!

Albolene Face Cleanser– I randomly discovered this at my local CVS when it was on sale. I actually didn’t hear much about it, but I knew that a friend had been using it as a moisturizer for quite some time! I decided to use this as a makeup remover, and MAN, this does wonders! It really does take all of the makeup off! The directions state that you don’t have to rinse your face afterwards, however, I HIGHLY recommend that you do, especially if you have combination/oily skin like me, just as a prevention against breakouts. The texture is almost like a creamy emollient or ointment, and it’s actually VERY thick! I highly recommend on wiping your face off with a baby wipe or paper towels, because this can feel greasy on your skin! Other than that, love this stuff!

Almay Clear Deodorant – I have to say, I LOVE natural deodorants, but there’s something about them that causes me to break them out. I randomly picked this up from a nearby Walmart, and it has been working quite well for me! It’s an unscented, clear gel deodorant by Almay. To be honest, I didn’t know that Almay made deodorants, but I actually like this one! It keeps me fresh in the pits, and it was VERY affordable compared to a lot of popular brands. I highly recommend this deodorant if you have sensitive skin!

L’Oreal Colour Riche Lip Balm in “Nourishing Nude” – I have been in the laziest mood lately when it comes to lip products, but I think this is PERFECT for a girl who is on the rush. This is a tinted lip balm by L’Oreal. It gives the lips a little bit of a tint, like a “Your Lips But Better” look, but with a sheen. I also love how this product is not super glossy or sticky, and it’s easy to apply, especially if you’re in a rush, or if you’re in an area with no mirror. It is on the pricey side for a drugstore product, but I still love this nonetheless! Plus, the packaging is very sleek and beautiful.

L’Oreal Colour Riche Lip Balm in “Nourishing Nude”

Lorac “Dance ‘Til Dawn” Eye & Cheek Palette – This eyeshadow palette actually came out a couple of years ago as a holiday special, and I was very fortunate to get it! At the time, I REALLY wanted to invest in the Naked 3 Palette, but I was kind of conflicted about spending money on it, and I’m glad to find something comparable to it! I really like this eyeshadow palette because it has a few transition shades, and a couple of beautiful shimmery shades, so you get a good mixture of both types of shadows. The colors aren’t too dramatic, and are PERFECT for daily wear. If you are into rose gold or pinkish nude eyeshadow palettes, this is the perfect palette for you!

**NOTE** Lorac no longer sells this palette, but I will link a similar palette above!

Lorac “Champagne Dreams” Eyeshadow Palette

These next two products, I feel like, go hand-in-hand, and look amazing on the eyes!

Maybelline Color Tattoo in “Bad to the Bronze”– This is one of those products that people have been raving about for years, and I can see why! I love this cream shadow because it looks beautiful on the eyes, and it doesn’t take that much effort! You can apply shadows on top of it, or use it alone on the lid, and it will still look gorgeous! One thing that I LOVE about this product is that it is PERFECT for loose pigments or glitter shadows! I used this with some of my loose pigments for a 9-hour work day, and LET ME TELL YOU…it lasted all nine hours, and THEN SOME. I love it, and I will continue to use this until I hit pan!

RiRe Eyeshadow Pigment in “Gold Clutch” – I purchased this straight from Korea, and afterwards, I started to feel a little skeptical about my purchase when I read so many negative reviews about this pigment. However, when I swatched it, it was GORGEOUS! I love how light the pigment is! It looks like a chunky glitter, but it’s actually just a very glittery pigment! It works well with eyeshadow primer, but EVEN better with cream shadows such as the Maybelline Color Tattoos. I think this is perfect for anyone who wants a little bit of glitter on the lids, or a quick glittery smoky eye for a night out! Plus, it was under $5, so you can’t beat that!

Maybelline Color Tattoo in “Bad to the Bronze” and RiRe pigment in “Gold Clutch”

E.L.F. Brow Pencil in “Taupe” – I loved the other ELF eyebrow pencil from my last monthly favorites, but sometimes the pigmentation was so dark that it made my brows look harsh! I decided to try this brow pencil, and I am FOREVER grateful I did. I believe, this is more of a true Taupe color. What I like about this shade is that it’s not too warm or too ashy, it’s more of a UNIVERSAL color that people with almost any type of hair color could use on their brows. I honestly thought that this would be too light for me, but the pigmentation worked well with my hair color, and it lasted for a long time as well! I loved this pencil so much that I bought 2 or 3 backups! Highly recommend!

Foodie Faves

Cafe Complements Coffee Creamer in “Peppermint Mocha”– I’m lactose-intolerant, so it’s been difficult for me to find a coffee cream that doesn’t make my stomach hurt every 15 minutes. This is a great creamer if you love peppermint mocha! I love this creamer because it’s a soy-based creamer, so it’s easier on my stomach, and it tastes absolutely AMAZING with my coffee! I purchased mines from the local farmer’s market, and surprisingly, it was cheaper than the regular coffee creamers out there that contain milk! LOVE THIS, and will continue to purchase until the season is over!

Holiday coffee – Every time I make coffee, I will usually end up using two types of coffee – some type of strong espresso, and regular coffee. Someone gave this to me as a gift, and I brewed it without thinking much about it. I ended up LOVING it for this past month! It’s a nice strong, dark-roasted coffee that tastes amazing with my espresso (I apologize, I’m horrible at explaining coffee flavors). I love brewing this, and I love the smell! I’m actually surprised that I haven’t heard much about this coffee, or that I haven’t heard about this sooner! I will most likely pick up another package after the holiday season!

Trader Joe’s Stars – This has been my guilty pleasure for the holiday. It was so bad that I went through maybe 3 or 4 boxes (I did share some with others, but still!). I LOVE dark chocolate and I love MINT DARK CHOCOLATE. These cute little stars are just a nice indulgence of chocolate with mint, without having one flavor overpower the other! Stock these up during the holiday season! I promise you mint chocolate lovers, you won’t regret it!

Random Favorites

Woodcraft Scented Candles in “Cinnamon Toast” – If you have been following me on Snapchat, you probably know that I am OBSESSED WITH CANDLES! I purchased this from Big Lots, again, not really thinking much of it at the time. I decided to light this candle one night, and my room smelled so amazing! It smelled like waffles or freshly baked cinnamon buns. I also really LOVE wooden wick candles. They tend to crackle very similarly, just like fire in the fireplace. I find these candles to be therapeutic and relaxing! Plus, they were $6, which is relatively inexpensive for wooden wick candles!

“Okay” Perfume Impression of Giorgio Armani “Si” – I am usually not the one to promote knock-offs or impressions of certain makeup or colognes, but this perfume was a big HIT in my book! My favorite scents during the fall and winter season tend to be a warm, musky scent, similar to amber or sandalwood! Although I’ve never actually smelled the Giorgio Armani perfume “Si”, I really loved the scent of this perfume! It smells amazing and goes well with my Elizabeth and James Nirvana perfume. Although it doesn’t last long, it smells amazing for only $3.50!

Alright guys, I hope you enjoyed my monthly favorites! Thank you for all your comments and support!

I hope that you guys start the year off with a big bang!

LOTS OF LOVE and until next time,

October 2016 Favorites!

Hey guys!

Long time no post, but I just wanted to share with you guys my October Favorites! I hope that you guys are ALL doing well, and that you guys enjoyed the beginning of Fall and Halloween! I starting using a LOT of makeup products this month, so the makeup section might be a little long! I’m so, SO excited to share these items with you guys, so here goes! 🙂

Trader Joe’s Enrich Moisturizer and Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo

Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo – Every time I’ve made a trip to Trader Joe’s, I noticed that this shampoo was ALWAYS wiped out. One day I decided to pick it up, and I’m glad I did! I love this shampoo because I love the natural ingredients. I LOVE that there’s no harsh chemicals that could damage my hair, and of course, the scent of the Tea Tree oil and the Eucalyptus oil is VERY soothing. Plus, it’s affordable (probably like $3 or $4 at MOST)! I highly recommend this shampoo!

Trader Joe’s Enrich Moisturizer with SPF 15 – LOVE THIS STUFF! I think that this moisturizer is great for sensitive skin. It’s not too heavy and it doesn’t feel greasy on the face whatsoever. I’ve been using this for a while now, and I haven’t broken out either. I would HIGHLY recommend if you are looking for an affordable moisturizer, especially if you have sensitive skin!

Mineral Fusion Loose Powder Foundation – Warm 2– You guys KNOW I love my mineral foundation, so of course, seeing this at TJ Maxx and Marshall’s, I HAD to stock up! I’ve been using this for a few weeks now, and I can honestly say that this has good coverage for a mineral foundation. It has medium to full coverage, and it stays on pretty well throughout the day (an 8 to 10 hour work shift if you have normal/combo skin). It’s not sweat-proof, but it does last throughout my long days at school and at work! What I also love about this foundation is that it doesn’t contain harsh chemicals, and it’s also cruelty-free.

Mineral Fusion Loose Powder Foundation – Shade “Warm 2”

Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil – Hazel – I randomly decided to try out a new eyebrow pencil, so I picked this one up from the drugstore. I have to admit, it’s probably a shade or two lighter than my normal hair color, but what I really like about this pencil is the color. It’s not too warm, and it’s a nice neutral brown that could work with various hair colors. Although it’s not waterproof, it is very long-lasting, sometimes even when I’m at the gym!

Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil – Shade “Hazel”

Maybelline EyeStudio Quad – Coral Oasis – I bought this a LONG time ago because the makeup blogger Casey Holmes recommend it, so it’s been collecting dust in my makeup train case. ANYWAYS, long story short, I decided to do a few makeup looks with this palette! I have to say, I LOVE IT! If you really want some nice, warm eyeshadow shades for the autumn or winter, I HIGHLY recommend this palette. I love mixing the orange and the brown to create a warm smoky eye, and I also love mixing the light pink and yellow color to create an inner-corner highlight or an overall lid shade! Great palette to use if you don’t want to dish out on a high-end palette!

Maybelline EyeStudio Quad – Shade “Coral Oasis”

Missha ColorBeam Shader – BR03 – I’ve been on the hunt for a nice bronzer or contour shade, and I think this is a good one! I like this bronzer because it’s pigmented (so that means you literally just have to dip your brush in there once, and you’re good to go), and it’s also affordable! The packaging really isn’t the best, since it doesn’t really come with a mirror or anything, but other than that, nice product! Just a fair warning, don’t overdo the bronzing with this shade because you may end up looking like an Oompa-Loompa.

Missha ColorBeam Shader – Shade “BR03”

Jordana EasyLiner Lip Liner – Baby Berry – Picked this up from Walgreens a couple of weeks ago, and I think this could be a “Your Lips But Better” shade. It’s a nice natural berry mauve color that looks beautiful on a LOT of different skin tones. Plus, it’s perfect if you’re on-the-go like me, since you can just put it in your purse and use it as a makeshift lipstick! Voila! Travel-friendly and affordable!

Jordana Easyliner Lip Liner – Shade “Baby Berry”

Missha 3D Luster Shadow – CR01 Ponytail– I’ve been OBSESSED with this shade EVERY SINCE I GOT IT. I use this eyeshadow for an all-over lid color and as a highlight. It’s a nice shimmery rose-champagne shade that looks beautiful on the cheekbones or even on the eyelids! At first, I was questioning my purchase ($7 for ONE eyeshadow shade?!), but now I’m glad that I got this. HIGHLY recommend, and I definitely think you’re getting your money’s worth!

Missha 3D Luster Shadow – Shade “CR 01 Ponytail”

Nature Republic Flower Wood Eyebrow Pencil – Brown – Picked this up on a whim along with a bunch of other products that I purchased from Korea, and I have to say, I actually like it! Again, this eyebrow pencil is a little bit lighter than my actual hair color, but I don’t mind it ONE bit! I have to say, this eyebrow pencil is long-lasting, and the shade isn’t too warm. Love it!

Nature Republic Wood Eyebrow Pencil – Shade “Brown”

ELF Eyebrow Pencil – Neutral Brown – I was out of brow products at the time that I purchased this, and here is another eyebrow pencil I have been obsessed with! At first I was like, this is probably going to be a junky eyebrow pencil, since it was so cheap, but MAN, it proved me wrong! The pigmentation is spot on, and it holds up well to some of the other more expensive eyebrow pencils that I own! I highly recommend this because not only is it affordable, but also cruelty-free!

ELF Eyebrow Pencil – Shade “Natural Brown”

IT Cosmetics Anti-Aging Vitality Face Palette – This was another product that has been collecting dust in my drawer. I got this with a deal that I saw on QVC, so I was like, why not? Anyways, I decided to pull this bad boy out, and YES…this is probably one of my favorite all-around face palettes! EVERYTHING is pigmented, and gorgeous! A lot of face palettes may only have one or two things that work amazing, while other shades in the palette are streaky or chalky. Not with this palette! I think it’s underrated, to be honest! Seriously though, swatch it at ULTA! You won’t be disappointed, I promise!

IT Cosmetics Anti-Aging Vitality Face Palette

RawBeauty Foundation for Acne-Prone Skin – Fairly Beige – LAST product that I have been enjoying for the month of October is this mineral foundation I bought from Etsy. I bought it from a homemade, cruelty-free company called RawBeauty ! I have to say, this is one of the BEST mineral foundations when it comes to staying power. Even when it comes to the gym, very rarely do I sweat off this foundation! I think it has medium to full-coverage as well, and the company has a great shade range for this mineral foundation. I also think it’s affordable, and I LOVE to support homemade or local companies, which is why this is a thumbs up in my book!

RawBeauty Foundation – Shade “Fairly Beige”

Alright babes, those are my favorite products for the month of October! Thank you all for your endless positivity and support! Be sure to follow me if you would like to see more content!

Until next time,

Review over “Play Color Eyes – In the Cafe” palette from Etude House

Hey guys,

I am back with a highly requested review. This review is over the eyeshadow palette from the “Play Color Eyes” collection by Etude House. The eyeshadow palette that I have is in the shade, “In the Café”. I decided to purchase this palette because I am OBSESSED with coffee and anything coffee-related. Plus, the packaging is very cute, so I couldn’t resist. Let me review over the THREE basics for every makeup item – packaging, pigmentation/formula, and price point!

After opening the package, I found this packaging to be sleek and very travel-friendly. It comes with two eyeshadow sponge applicators (which to be honest, I don’t care for very much, I usually apply my eyeshadows with brushes anyways). Inside, there is a mirror, which is a plus! I also like the neutral eyeshadow range (a good amount of mattes, lots of transition shades, and a few gorgeous shimmery shades). One thing that I did notice was that the name of the shades was on a plastic slip cover than on the actual palette itself. It would be nice if they did print the names on the palette, however, it’s not mandatory. Another suggestion regarding the packaging was that I prefer some of my eyeshadow shades to go from lightest to darkest, but again, this is just out of personal preference.

After swatching these, I found that the pigmentation is not very persistent throughout all of the shades. Some of the shades swatched very nicely, and others looked either chalky or streaky. I noticed that the shimmery shades, like in most eyeshadow palettes, had the best pigmentation.

“Play Color Eyes – In the Cafe” palette WITHOUT primer; top picture with flash, bottom picture without flash

With this palette, for the best color payoff, I would suggest using an eye primer or a makeup setting spray. After swatching this with primer, some of the colors turned out much more pigmented and vibrant.

Price Point

Without any discounts, this palette is normally roughly about $27 to $28 USD, making this about $2.80 per shade. However, I got mine from EBay for about $17, from an authorized, authentic Korean seller. I think that the price point is NOT bad at all, considering that you get 10 shades. I also think that it’s roughly the average price for most eyeshadow palettes nowadays.

Is this eyeshadow palette an iconic palette that could be used for various skin tones and for everyday wear compared to such eyeshadow palettes like Urban Decay’s Naked palette? To be quite honest, I don’t think so. Is this a mandatory eyeshadow palette? I don’t really think so either. Is it highly pigmented? Not so much, since some shadows are more pigmented than others.

However, I must say, this eyeshadow palette is fairly cute, and makes a great gift for coffee-lovers. Plus, if you are in need for a cute, neutral palette, I think that this is a steal! So far, it has been my daily go-to eyeshadow palette. The packaging, range of colors, and price point makes this a worthy palette to have! Plus, if I am correct, this is a limited-edition palette, so I would recommend on getting your hands on it if you want!

Where I purchased my palette from – EBay

Where you can also purchase the palette from – Etude House – Online Store

NOTE – If you love the shade range and or packaging, but cannot afford this palette, another palette that I would recommend with very similar shades is the ELF Eyeshadow “Need it Nude” palette. It is $10 at most, although ELF has many site-wide sales and flash sales, so you can get it for even cheaper than that!

I hope that you all found this review particularly useful! If you all would like for me to review other products, please let me know in the comments down below!

Much love and until next time,

September 2016 Favorites!

Hey guys,

It’s about that time again! Time for my monthly favorites! Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of makeup favorites to share with you guys, just because I’ve been using the same products lately (so in this monthly favorites, I’ll have some repeat offenders, haha), but I have tried a few new products, so LET’S GET STARTED!

Every Man Jack Deodorant in Signature Min – I’ve been looking for an organic, aluminum-free deodorant that was affordable, and in a scent that I like. Most organic deodorants are affordable, but they don’t smell all that great, and vice versa. I REALLY like this deodorant because it smells like peppermint! I’m pleased to say that this deodorant is aluminum-free (which I’ve heard that aluminum can be harmful for your health), and it’s AFFORDABLE (like $4). You definitely can’t beat that! Plus, this brand has other nice scents, so if you’re not completely obsessed with peppermint like I am, you have some other options.

Blue Mound Strawberry Mint Lip Balm – I actually bought this ONLY for a scent, but I have to say, it’s an amazing lip balm nonetheless. I really like this because the scent smells like strawberry starbursts. It has a little bit of peppermint so it gives you a slight tingly feeling. This lip balm also keeps my lips moisturized for HOURS, so I usually like to apply this right before I go to bed so that I have soft lips in the morning!

AcneFree Energizing Gel Acne Cleanser – You all know that this is my GO-TO cleanser! On the top of my list! If you suffer from monthly hormonal breakouts, and your skin works well with benzoyl peroxide, I HIGHLY recommend this cleanser. Unfortunately, this product is being discontinued, but if you find it, I highly recommend on purchasing it! I love this stuff, and I have NO idea what I’ll do once my stash runs out.

Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Conditioner – I get a lot of questions on what hair products I use to get shiny hair! I’ve been using this for a month now (you can kind of see that the bottle is almost empty), and I really love it! It really gives the appearance of glossy, healthy hair without overdoing it! You can find this at your local drugstore or even Target. It’s a little pricey, I have to admit, but take advantage of sales when you can! It’s worth every penny!

Victoria’s Secret “Night” Body Spray – Every time it hits Fall, I really love musky deep scents. This is a nice, musky, warm scent. It’s described on the Victoria’s Secret website as having a warm floral scent with accents of black plum, velvet woods, and luscious apple. I really like this scent because it’s perfect for a date or an evening event, and it doesn’t smell too fruity or floral. Plus, it’s a long-lasting body spray, so you don’t have to continually spray yourself all day long!

Elizabeth & James Nirvana White Rollerball – Again, I’ve been loving deep, warm scents for the Fall season. I couldn’t get myself to buy the full perfume bottle, so I opted to buy the rollerball. Again, I love this scent because it smells lovely and it’s long-lasting, surprisingly, even as a rollerball. This perfume is described on Sephora as having a musky feminine scent with accents of peony, mugnet, and tender musk. I love to keep this in my purse when I’m going out, because the scent makes me feel a little more sophisticated!

Essence Gel Waterproof Eyeliner in Cocoa Bean – This is a repeat offender, but I’m seriously in love with this gel eyeliner! I find that this eyeliner goes on so smooth and pigmented, and it gives higher-end eyeliners a run for its money! It’s also very affordable (only about $3)!

Essence Gel Waterproof Eyeliner in “Cocoa Bean”

ELF Eyeshadow Palette in “Need it Nude” – Another repeat offender! I REALLY love this eyeshadow palette, and I cannot get over how pigmented it is! I love the neutral colors, and I think that the shades work with just about any type of eye look you’re doing (whether you’re trying to keep it natural, or create a smoky eye). I’ve been OBSESSED with doing a daytime-appropriate smoky eye with this palette almost everyday this month! Highly recommend, and I also think it’s comparable to other high-end brands!

ELF Eyeshadow Palette in “Need it Nude”;Top Picture – Without Flash; Bottom Picture – With Flash

Maybelline Brow Precise Micro Pencil in “Soft Brown” (not pictured) – I have to apologize, I threw this away before I could get a picture of it, but yeah, I’ve been obsessed with micro brow pencils, and this was one that I really liked for the month of September! I really like the pigmentation and how stiff the product was (some micro eyebrow pencils are so creamy that they tend to fade much quicker). With this product, I was able to quickly create a shape and fill in my eyebrows, even on days that I had to put my makeup on in a hurry! I recommend this one if you’re in store for a new drugstore eyebrow pencil!

Alima Pure Satin Matte Foundation in “Neutral 3” – I’ve been OBSESSED with mineral foundations lately, and this was a highly recommended brand by some makeup bloggers. I bought a few sample shades, but lately I’ve been using this shade since my face gotten a little bit lighter! What I love about this product is that it has good coverage (medium to buildable full coverage), and it doesn’t leave a weird scent on the face. I also notice that I don’t have to powder throughout the day since it mattifies my t-zone. I like to mix this in with my Pure Minerals Foundation in medium beige to get my “perfect” shade. Really love this stuff!

Alima Pure Satin Matte Foundation in “Neutral 3”

Sephora PRO Brow Brush #20 – I’ve been obsessed with brows lately, and this is a brush that I SERIOUSLY cannot do without when I do my makeup! What I like about this eyebrow brush is that it has a nice, long handle that helps with the precision and accuracy when applying an eyebrow product. I also love the bristles too! They aren’t too flimsy, and they are stiff enough to get the right amount of product onto the brush. If you are looking for a new eyebrow brush or in the store for one, this is my go-to!

Sephora Pro Eyebrow Brush “#20”

Quality Plus Sleep Aid (Diphenhydramine 50 mg) – 8 Softgels for 88 Cents –

**I just want to say a DISCLAIMER before I go into detail about this product! I am by no means a health care expert or doctor of any sort. If you want to try this medication, please consult with your physician or local pharmacist FIRST! I do not ADVISE for everyone to take this medication, I am only stating that this product has been working for me. Thank you in advance!**

With the crazy amount of caffeine I’ve been drinking, I’ve been taking this Benadryl (or diphenhydramine) for sleep! I like this because I can take it and not be too drowsy the morning afterwards, and I love the quality of sleep that I get with this medication! Again, I am by no means promoting this medication, but this has worked for me when I have difficulty sleeping! Plus it’s affordable (88 cents at Walmart)!

Walmart’s diphenhydramine or also known as “Sleep Aid capsules”

Trader Joe’s 100% Colombian Instant Coffee– When I went to to the Trader Joe’s location in Tulsa back in August, I picked this up on a whim! I love Colombian coffee – it is strong and dark! Plus, I like to use this to add this as “shots of espresso” when I create my own custom cup! I love the taste of this coffee, and I also love the amount of caffeine that it has in it! I use this along with the G7 coffee that I get from the Asian/Ethnic supermarkets. This makes my coffee not too sweet, and I still get that caffeinated buzz. Love it!

Trader Joe’s 100% Instant Colombian Coffee (pictured with G7 coffee – not included in purchase)

Nike Womens Free Cross Bionic 1.0 Trainers – I bought this on a whim when I was local Ross shop, and I was going back and forth with whether or not I should’ve kept these, but I’m glad I did! These are my favorite trainers for the month of September! I really like to use these for cardio since they’re lightweight. I prefer squatting in socks, but I also like these for squats when I don’t have the option to squat in socks. I have to admit, these are some great trainers if you’re in store looking for some new training shoes!

Nike Cross Bionic 1.0

Alright guys, that is it! Thank you all for all of your endless positivity and support! I wouldn’t have been able to do this without you guys! Be sure to give this a “star” if you enjoyed this post, or subscribe if you would like to see further content from me!

I hope you all have a great month of October!

Until next time,

August 2016 Favorites!

Hey guys!

I received many positive responses from my last post, so I decided to keep up with my monthly “Favorites” posts! In no particular order, let’s start!

Olay Gentle Clean Makeup Wipes – This was in a previous monthly favorites, but it seems as though I can’t get enough of these wipes! They’re very huge (maybe larger than a 5 x 7 inch size), and moist. I love these because I only need ONE wipe to cleanse my whole face. It’s also perfect for those with sensitive skin, because it doesn’t contain any fragrances or harsh chemicals that could possibly irritate the skin.

Trader Joe’s Oil-Free Antioxidant Facial Moisturizer – I was fortunate enough to stop by a Trader Joe’s in Tulsa one day, and bought a massive amount of their skincare products. This is one of my favorite products for the evening or night-time, just because it feels light and moisturizing on the skin. Plus, it doesn’t contain any fragrances, which is PERFECT for those who are sensitive to perfumes or strong scents.

Trader Joe’s Face Wash with Tea Tree Oil – I was kind of skeptical of this cleanser just because I saw the word “oil” in it (if you know me pretty well, I have an oily t-zone). However, I must admit, I love the health benefits of the tea tree oil. It keeps my skin clear and break-out FREE! I love this stuff, and it is practically inexpensive. Also, it comes with a pump, which is a PLUS for me!

Earth Science Eye Makeup Remover – I’ve also mentioned this in a previous favorites post, but one of the things that I dislike about removing makeup is waterproof makeup! Sometimes, it is VERY stubborn to take off, and most waterproof makeup removers contain some type of oil, which could feel greasy on the skin. I really like this because it’s a gel-formula, which is great because it doesn’t leave that greasy residue. If you’re looking for an organic cleanser, this would be it! It takes off my waterproof mascara in no time, and it doesn’t leave that awful greasy feeling. LOVE IT!

Trader Joe’s Enrich Moisturizer with SPF 15 – On days that I could use some sun protection, I use this moisturizer on my face. I have to say, I love this moisturizer! It doesn’t have the biggest SPF factor, but I like to use this when I’m in a hurry. I love the light rose scent, and I also like how travel-friendly it is, considering that I always take my makeup on the go! Very inexpensive too (about $3-4)!

Parent’s Choice Shea Butter Scented Wipes– I know this is kind of weird, but I’ve been pretty obsessed with baby wipes. Got a spill? Use a baby wipe. Out of toilet paper? Use a baby wipe. Feeling smelly? Use a baby wipe. I feel like I could use this for just almost about everything, especially as a feminine hygiene product! I love using this when I’m at the gym and need to smell good in a pinch, or when I’m in a gross public bathroom with no toilet paper! It’s hard to beat, especially when this whole package is $2!

De La Cruz Eucalyptus Oil – I found this at my local CVS for about $3, and I just knew I had to pick it up! For an essential oil, it is fairly cheap! I love mixing it with other essential oils to create my own scent of “poo-pourri”. Hahaha. The scent keeps me relaxed and it smells amazing too!

Johnson’s Baby Soothing Vapor Bath – Allergies have been kicking my butt lately, but this has definitely cured some of my congestion. I love combining this along with my everyday shower gel, just because it relieves some of my congestion. Plus, I’m OBSESSED with the vapor scent.

Pure Minerals Foundation – Medium Beige (Luminous)

Pure Minerals “Luminous” Foundation – (shade Medium Beige) – I’ve been looking for a mineral foundation that is made without talc, and is cruelty-free. This brand is called Pure Minerals, and I found this on Amazon. I like this product because it’s fairly inexpensive compared to lots of other brands that sell mineral foundations (roughly $13-$14), and you get a lot of product (usually about 1/3 more than BareMinerals, for example). This foundation gives great coverage, and I think it matches my complexion well! It does come in a “matte” and “luminous” formula – I got the luminous formula by mistake, but I would HIGHLY recommend on getting the “matte” formula if you have an oily t-zone or if you have oily/combination skin. One downside is the shade range – I don’t think it offers any shades for people of color (beyond a tan or medium olive shade).

Neutrogena Shine Control Powder (with Rice Protein Complex)

Neutrogena Shine Control Powder  – This has been collecting dust in my makeup case for a while, but I decided to take it out again! This shine control powder is made of rice powder, which is great if you have a talc allergy. I also like it because it’s a translucent powder, so anyone can use it! I love using this to mattify the t-zone. It’s a little bit on the expensive side for a drugstore product but Ulta offers some great sales once in a while. Highly recommend!

Milani “Brow Fix” Brow Kit – in shade Medium

Milani Brow Fix Brow Kit in Medium – This is another product that has been collecting dust in my makeup drawer! I have to say, this is my favorite brow powder kit of all time from the drugstore. This kit offers a highlight shade, a light brown shade (for the inner part of the eyebrow), and a dark brown shade (for the end of the eyebrow). I like this because it isn’t too warm or too cool; it’s neutral enough to use on my eyebrows. I will often use this to set my brows after I use brow gel or brow pomade. Plus, there are tweezers, an eyeshadow applicator, and a brow brush! Again, inexpensive product, and I highly recommend!

Christian Dior Creme De Rose Lip Balm – This has been my go-to lip product of the month. I think that every person needs a luxury makeup item, and this is one product that I recommend. I really love how this feels on the lips – light and moisturizing. It also smells like roses! I love to keep this in my makeup bag for on-the-go.

Covergirl SuperSizer Mascara (Waterproof)

Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara (Very Black) – I picked this up from my local Big Lots because I REALLY wanted to try out a new mascara, and most mascaras range from $8 to $9 dollars at the drugstore (which is ridiculous in my opinion!), but I found this one for $3.50. I have to admit, I love this mascara. I like the brush because I don’t have to go over my eyelashes as much as the L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara, and it gives great length and volume. Plus, this waterproof mascara holds up all day, even in the heat and at the gym!

L’Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper in Translucent

L’Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper (Translucent) – My brows have been kind of unruly lately. In order to keep them in place, I like to use this brow gel! It keeps my brow hairs stuck in the right direction, and in the correct shape, thanks to this product!

ELF Eyeshadow Palette in “Need it Nude”

ELF Eyeshadow Palette (Need it Nude)– I found this in the clearance section at my local Walmart, and decided to pick this up on a whim (it was $5; you can’t beat that on an eyeshadow palette). I really like this because it offers great nude shades. I love to use the light matte shade to set my under-eye concealer, the lighter shimmery shades for an inner-corner eye highlight, the middle shimmery and matte shades for an all-over lid color, and the darker colors for my eyebrows/makeshift eyeliner. One of my biggest issues is that I tend to find eyeshadow palettes in which I don’t feel like I ever use all of the shades, but I DON’T have a problem with this palette at all. I highly recommend this versatile and pigmented palette!

Powerful Oatmeal in Apple Cinnamon

Powerful Oatmeal (Apple Cinnamon) – I have to admit, I am pretty lazy when it comes to eating breakfast – I will usually skip breakfast or opt out and drink coffee. Since I’ve tried out this product, I’ve been much better at eating breakfast. The great part about this product is that it has 20 grams of protein – which is enough to keep me full most mornings. I find that the oatmeal is flavorful enough that I don’t have to sweeten it with anything really, but I do like to add fresh blueberries to give my oatmeal some extra fiber. I also like the to-go cup; it is VERY convenient and easy to throw away when you’re done!

(NOTE – I got mine at Walmart; I don’t know if all Walmart stores have it in stock, but I know that some do!)

Amino X – Grape Flavored

BSN Amino X (Grape Flavored) – Along with my lack of eating breakfast, I also forget to drink enough supplements and protein. I’ve been stealing this from my sister, and I have to say, this is probably one of my favorite aminos that I’ve tried recently. This tastes like grape Kool-Aid, and it tastes refreshing after a nice, long workout. This is great for my muscle recovery, and it helps with my muscle soreness (especially if I’ve been lifting weights). Plus, I think it’s pretty inexpensive for a supplement (roughly $20-$25?), so I encourage you guys to get it!

Christine Phung (YouTube) – She is one of my favorite local YouTube and Instagram makeup bloggers here in Oklahoma! Plus, she’s Chinese (can we get a holla for Asian pride?!). I’ve never met her before, but I’ve always admired her style and originality as a makeup artist. I highly recommend you guys to subscribe to her on YouTube, or even follow her on Instagram! She is so sweet and she uploads WAY, way more than me, so if you ever want to see some makeup tutorials in between my blog posts, she’s THE ONE to subscribe to!

bboxb (Breadbox Beauty) – Taylor is also one of my favorite Instagram makeup artists that resides here in Oklahoma! She’s very sweet, and I love her work. She reminds me a lot of Ashley Graham! Again, she posts A LOT more on Instagram than I do on this blog, so in the meantime, follow her on Instagram at @BBOXB !

Alright guys, that’s all the favorites that I have! Thank you all for your dedication and support! It means a lot to me!

Until next time,

July 2016 Favorites!

Hey guys!

I am back with my July Favorites! I know it’s been awhile but I needed some time to concentrate on myself and my studies! Plus, I’ve also been a little limited on budget when it comes to makeup, so I’ve been trying to use some of the older products that I own! Anyways, this blog is going to be a SUPER LONG NOVEL, so let’s get started!

July 2016 Skincare

White Clay Deep Cleansing Foam by Cleansing Story – This is a Korean makeup brand that I saw at TJ Maxx! My sister and I were curious about it, and needless to say, I really do like it! It’s really foamy and it has a nice light clean scent. I feel like it has made a difference in the number of breakouts, especially during that time of month. I highly recommend it, if you can find it or get your hands on it!

African Water Mint & Ginger Shampoo by Shea Moisture – I have to admit, this shampoo is a little bit more on the expensive side, when comparing it to other drugstore shampoos. What I like about this is the peppermint/eucalyptus scent! If you know me well enough, you probably know that I am OBSESSED with peppermint/eucalyptus scents. Plus, it’s a nice light shampoo that gives your hair amazing volume, and it does NOT dry out your hair like traditional shampoos, especially if you have a tendency to wash your hair on a daily basis. I love it.

Rose Oil Complex Sensitive Skin Facial Moisturizer by Shea Moisture – This is one of the lightest moisturizers that I use, when I know that I won’t be out in the sun, or something that I’ll use at night to keep my face hydrated. The texture is creamy, very light, and it does NOT feel greasy on the skin at all! Again, it’s one of the products that I highly recommend if your skin is sensitive or may be prone to breakouts.

Andalou Naturals SPF 30 Facial Serum – I’ve been trying out some organic, cruelty-free products, and this is one product that has caught my eye! I bought this on a whim, and I have to say, I really do like it! It can be a little bit greasy, but what I love about this product is that it has a boost of SPF to help my skin from sunburns and signs of aging. Plus, it’s unscented, which is great for sensitive and acne-prone skin. I love it!

Makeup (Face Products)

Face Makeup July 2016

Smashbox Photo Filter Powder Foundation (Shade 4) – Still one of my favorite high-end powder foundations! I’ve tried a few others and I still go back to this one. I think that this powder looks lovely on camera. It gives a light to medium coverage, but it can definitely be buildable to full-coverage if you want to use it with a wet sponge! I always keep this in my makeup bag, and it’s also great for touch-ups without making your face look dry or cakey!

Mineral Fusion Pressed Powder Foundation (Shade Olive 3) – If I’m possibly heading over to the gym that day, or if I’m in high-heat and I don’t want my makeup to cause breakouts, this is one of my favorite powder foundations. NOTE – THIS POWDER FOUNDATION HAS SHEER TO LIGHT COVERAGE! It’s not full-coverage, and it won’t completely cover blemishes or redness, but I think that’s what I love about this product. I am usually ok with some blemishes or redness showing through, and no matter how much I sweat that day, I NEVER break out with this product! My favorite foundation for the gym!

Physicians Formula Bronzer

Physician’s Formula NudeWear Bronzer

Physician’s Formula NudeWear Bronzer – The first time that I used this product, I actually HATED it. I felt like it was way too shimmery, and there wasn’t enough pigmentation for it to be bronze on me. After getting past the shimmery parts of the bronzer, I have to say, I really like it! It’s a bronzer that is a little more on the shimmery side, and it’s a product that you have to build up as a bronzer, but again, it’s something that I don’t mind. The downside about this product is that it may not be pigmented enough for people who have a darker skin tone or for people of color. I wish that there was a wider shade range to cater to other people as well! However, I do enjoy it, and I love how natural it looks on my skin.

Physicians Formula Concealer

Physician’s Formula NudeWear Concealer

Physician’s Formula NudeWear Concealer – This packaging is ADORABLE, and I love the cute bow! This is a nice concealer if your skin tone is NW 25-30. I sometimes use it as a highlighting concealer, and sometimes I also use it to cover my eye bags. I also like the coverage (medium to buildable, full-coverage). Downside again is that it doesn’t cater to people who have darker skin tones or people of color. Other than that, I’ve really enjoyed it!

Makeup (Brow & Eye Products July 2016 Eye Makeup

L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer (Dark Brunette) – This is my favorite, HANDS DOWN, brow product from the drugstore! I love how creamy and pigmented it is! It’s so easy to use, and I love using the spoolie to blend out my eyebrows so that they don’t look as harsh! The only downside about this product is longevity – it’s not waterproof or sweat-proof, but the pigmentation is so amazing to the point that it outweighs these cons for me! I love it!

L'Oreal Brow Stylist

L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer in Dark Brunette

L’Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper (Clear) – My brows can get unruly from time to time, so I use these to shape them! Honestly, any clear brow gel works, so you really DON’T have to buy this one, but it’s been my favorite for the month of July.

Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eyeliner (Noir) – One of my favorite blackest of the black, creamy eyeliners that I’ve used from the drugstore. It’s supposed to be waterproof, but it smudges when I’m at the gym from time to time! Other than that, I love to use this to create a long-lasting quick, smoky eye. I also love it for tight-lining as well! It gives such great definition to the eyes.

Essence Make Me Brow (Shade Browny Brows) – If you’re looking for a cheap eyebrow gel that does the job, then this is the product for you! I really like how small the spoolie brush is. It keeps my brows in place, even at the gym! One thing that I’ve heard about this product is that it is the dupe to the Benefit Gimme Brow….it is NOT! There are no fibers in this product. It’s literally just the brow gel! Either way, I love it because it is affordable (ONLY THREE DOLLARS) and it works!

Makeup Brushes

July 2016 Makeup Brushes

Sonia Kashuk Blush Brush (No. 02)Still my favorite blush and face brush! I keep one to apply my powder foundation, and I keep the other one for just blush and bronzer. It’s not too flimsy, and it has just the right amount of denseness to apply bronzer, blush, or even to lightly contour the face. I will forever LOVE this brush!

ELF Ultimate Blending Brush – For $6, I have to admit, this is an amazing face brush! I love this for foundation or blending out concealer. It’s one of the softest and densest makeup brushes on the market! Plus, for SIX BUCKS…it’s literally a steal!

ELF Small Stipple Brush – I am probably the ONLY weirdo that does this, but I always HATE applying my moisturizer with my hands. No matter how clean my hands are, I get paranoid that I’ll add on extra oils from my hands to my face, so I use this brush to apply moisturizer. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this brush just for this purpose! I think I got it for like three dollars? I even bought extra just in case this one broke! I love it, and will continue using it until it breaks!

Sonia Kashuk Eye Blending Brush (No. 109) – This is another product that I HATED, but I ended up liking it after a while. I love this to blend out harsh lines in eyeshadows, to powder up underneath the eyes after I’ve applied concealer, or even to apply highlighter. The bristles are fluffy, but they are not flimsy at all! I don’t remember how much I paid for this brush, but it was one of the more inexpensive eye brushes that I’ve gotten from the drugstore. One of my faves!

Workout/Gym Favorites

EAS Protein

EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control Protein Shake (Rich Dark Chocolate) – I was walking around Big Lots, looking for an affordable protein shake, and I picked this up on a whim. It has definitely grown to be one of my favorites from the grocery store! I love how it’s not too sweet, and it has a nice, rich chocolate flavor. Plus, it has NO cholesterol, and it has NO sugar. Only downside is that it’s 17 grams of protein, but I don’t mind drinking two of these on a busy day!

Adidas Tubular “Radial K”Sneakers – I found these in the kids section at Nordstrom Rack…FOR $20!! I think someone wore them once and returned them, which is why I was able to get it at that price! I love these shoes SO MUCH. I’ve always wanted to get a pair of Nike Roshe, but I can’t find any affordable ones in my size…but this is JUST AS GOOD. These are probably my favorite shoes for cardio and squats. Plus, they’re so comfy and the insoles are amazing! I may just splurge $75 just to get an extra pair…what do you guys think? Mini Target Haul

Hey guys!

I’m back with another haul! I stopped by at my local Target store, and I was SO EXCITED when I found out that they would be carrying the Essence cosmetics line. I really wanted to pick up more items, but it seems as if I’m not the only one who was ecstatic! The area was just about wiped out by the time I got there. I also picked up some other items, but anyways, let’s begin!

Minty Pail

Tin Mint-Colored Basket – I found this in the dollar section at Target. It was fairly inexpensive! Since I don’t have a night stand, and I don’t know if my living arrangements are going to change soon, I’m just using this put my charger/glasses/ keys in.

ELF Contour Brush

ELF Blending Brush

ELF Blending Brush – I heard some good reviews about this brush from the YouTube beauty blogger, Laura Lee! I like how dense it is, and it’s also perfect for contouring or bronzing up the complexion! It also feels very soft on the face.

ELF Small Tapered Brush

ELF Small Tapered Brush

ELF Small Tapered Brush – If you’ve gone through my previous favorites, you DEFINITELY know this is one of my staples! This is so affordable (I ended up buying two), and again, with the synthetic bristles, it feels nice and soft on the face. I love to use this for highlighting and setting concealer with powder underneath my eyes.

Sonia Kashuk Blush Brush

Sonia Kashuk Blush Brush 02

Sonia Kashuk Blush Brush 02 – I got a set of Sonia Kashuk brushes a few years back, but my FAVORITE brush from her collection is her blush brush! I think it’s perfect for applying a mineral foundation, for bronzer or light contouring, and blush! It was on sale for $9 (I believe), so I had to pick it up! I think the handle is quite stylish too.

L'Oreal Brow Stylist

L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer in Dark Brunette

L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer (in Dark Brunette) – I love, LOVE, love my Maybelline Define-a-Brow, I really do, but every time I turned up the pencil for more product, the product would start breaking or falling out. I decided to pick this up. I love how this has a spoolie on one end, and the product on the other side. I don’t know if this will replace my Maybelline Define-a-Brow, but it comes awfully close!

NYX Micro Brow Pencil

NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Ash Brown

NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Ash Brown – I’ve heard a LOT of hype about this product on YouTube and on several beauty blogs! Hopefully this lives up to the hype! Again, I like the packaging and the shade, so hopefully it works out for me!

Essence Gel Eyeliner

Essence Gel Waterproof Eye Pencil in Cocoa Bean

Essence Gel Waterproof Eye Pencil in Cocoa Bean – I decided to swatch this in the store, and this would NOT COME OFF. I really like brown eyeliners because they don’t look as harsh as black eyeliners, and I was looking for a good drugstore eyeliner that I could tightline with! My FOREVER FAVORITE is the IT Cosmetics Gel Waterproof Eyeliner, but it’s hard to dish out the money when you’re a college student! Plus, this is only $3!

Essence Lip Liners

Essence Lip Pencil in Satin Mauve and Cute Pink – I decided to pick up two lip liners because I heard great reviews about them, and they were also pretty affordable. Most of the lip liners that I wanted to try were gone, but I do like pink and mauve shades, so I picked these up! The swatches for the Satin Mauve is on top, and the swatches for the Cute Pink are on the bottom. Can’t wait to try these out!

That’s it for my haul! Thank you again to all of my subscribers and everyone who has shown support for my blog! You guys are definitely appreciated and loved!

I hope that you all have an AMAZING week! Until next time,

Review – Wet n Wild MegaGlo Contouring Palette

Hey guys!

I hope you all are doing well. As promised, I am trying to be a little bit more active and also post more on my blog! I am so happy that life is slightly back to normal, and that I have a decent schedule going on.

I am back with another review! I stopped by my local CVS back in December and saw these new contouring palettes by Wet n Wild. These are the Wet n Wild Contouring Palettes. At the moment, I only own the Anastasia Contouring Kit, but I’ve always wanted to see if there was a drugstore version, or even a dupe! As far as I could tell, these came with some nice shades. I purchased these for maybe $5 or less (don’t quote me on the price!), which is pretty affordable!

Wet n Wild MegaGlo Palettes

This contour palette only came in two shades that I saw, one in Dulce de Leche (for lighter skin tones), and one in Caramel Toffee (which is for medium to tan skin tones). I am glad that it comes in two shades, but at the same time, I feel like it’s missing a shade for women of color!

Let’s talk about the texture of this palette. This stuff is VERY SILKY, for the price. The powder is finely milled (even more softer than my Anastasia Contour Kit), and it feels very smooth to the touch.

Let’s talk about the colors in each of the palettes. The first shade that I will talk about is Dulce de Leche. I think these are nice colors to work with. The highlight shade is a nice neutral peachy shade but with a yellow undertone to it. I also like the contour shade. It’s a neutral matte brown color, and isn’t orange at all, which is perfect for contouring.

The second shade is Caramel Toffee. I really love the highlighting shade, only because I prefer a strong yellow highlighting powder. This highlight shade reminds me A LOT of the banana powder in the Anastasia Contour Kit (which is a yellow color). The contouring shade is on the warmer side compared to the contouring shade in Dulce de Leche. I would probably describe it as a warm matte tan color. Although this is a good shade to warm up your complexion, the downside of this color is that it can come off slightly orange if you overdo it with a strong hand.

Swatches for Caramel Toffee

Wet n Wild MegaGlo Palette in “Caramel Toffee”

Now, onto the downside of this palette. Although I really like the shades and the textures of both palettes, the only thing is that using this palette can get kind of messy. I have noticed in several instances where the powder gets all over the place, and it can get dusty real quick! Also, since the powder is packaged in a wide plastic compact, I don’t think that this may be travel-friendly. Wet n Wild MegaGlo Palettes Powdery

Short version of this review –

  • Great shades for light to medium skin tones
  • Powder is finely milled
  • Affordable (roughly $5 USD each)

  • Product can get a little too messy to work with
  • No shades for women of color
  • Packaging is a little bit wide and contains no mirror; may not be suitable for traveling

Bottom Line – Would I purchase it?

I would purchase it if you’re either on a budget or if you don’t mind adding another contouring palette to your kit from the drugstore; if not, I don’t see it as something mandatory to add to your collection.

If you are interested, these can be purchased at CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart.

One thing that I would suggest is if they made a palette with that neutral brown shade from the Dulce de Leche palette, and use the yellow shade from the Caramel Toffee palette! I think it would be an amazing palette with just those two shades!
